Nithya Ram Biography

Nithya Ram is a very popular and successful actress associated with Kannada television and soap dramas. She is best known for playing the protagonist in the popular supernatural television drama, Nandini, aired in all the four prominent south Indian languages. Nandini, is the second most expensive TV drama on Indian television, after Naagin. The show was premiered on 23 January 2017, and currently telecasted in Sun TV, Gemini TV, Surya TV and Udaya TV channels. Nithya has also appeared in one Kannada film, Muddu Manase. Her younger sister Rachita Ram is also a well-established south Indian actress.

She was born into a family of artists in Bangalore on 31st January 1990. Her father K. S. Ramu and sister Rachita Ram are classical dancers. Her sister is a famous Kannada actress too. Nithya too is a trained classical dancer. Though she completed her degree in biotechnology, she pursued her dreams to become an actress. Kannada television soap opera Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu marked her acting debut. In this show, she shared screen space with her sister.

After appearing in Kannada TV shows, Karpoorada Gombe, Rajkumari and Eradu Kanasu she acted in a couple of Tamil shows as well. She had a brief stint in movies as well, signing a couple of Kannada movies. She debut Kannada films with Muddu Manase in 2015, and once again switched to Kannada TV shows. Currently she is active in her television career, and worked in TV soaps - Amma Naa Kodala (Telugu debut) and Nandini too. Since 2017, she acts as the celebrity judge of Kids talent shows - Asathal Chutties on Sun TV and its remake, Killadi Kids on Udaya TV.
