Nita Mehta Biography 
Nita Mehta is a celebrity chef, media personality writer and restaurateur. Mehta has been called a "Cooking Expert" and "Nutrition Expert" in the media, who has authored numerous books in the art of cooking. Mehta has authored more than 400 cookery books that have been sold worldwide. In 1999, she her book Flavours of Indian Cooking earned her the Best Asian Cookbook Award at the World Cookbook Fair in Paris. She runs a culinary academy known as Nita Mehta Culinary Academy in New Delhi since 2001.
She was interested in cooking since her teens. She baked cookies and cakes with the help of her neighbour aunts in those days. Thus her passion curved her path. She is married to Subhash Mehta and she got a lot of encouragement from her family to pursue a career in this field. They equally appreciated her as well. Her husband helped her in doing DTP work for publishing her recipe books. She travels a lot, visit restaurants and tries out new dishes also. She loves stir-fries, whether Continental or Oriental.
Later she started cooking classes for fun and time pass and also worked for many years as a professional chef. She started Nita Mehta Culinary Academy which trains many students. Doctors, lawyers, housewives etc - people belonging to different styles of life and profession attends her classes. Besides cooking, she also started one restaurant 'Kelong' in Ludhiana in the year 2012. This multi-cuisine restaurant was the first one started by her, followed by another one named “Lemon Grass” which offers Thai & Mexican food.
Published over 400 books, some of her books are Indian Cooking With Olive Oil, Vegetarian Chinese, Zero Oil Cooking, Diabetes Delicacies, 101 Recipes for Children, Flavours of Indian Cooking and The Best of Chicken and Paneer. She has appeared as a celebrity judge of Master Chef India Season 2.
