Nishal Chandra Biography

Nishal Chandra, simply known as Nischal is a Malayalam film actor, who started his career as a child artist in the late 1980s. But he is best known as ex-husband of the leading Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan. Got married on February 5, 2009 they got separated the following year. He has been in spot light since marriage. Nischal's suspicious nature and his mother’s torture were cited as the reasons for the split. Nishal later married Remya Nath in 2011, soon after the divorce was granted. Though he has acted in a few Malayalam films, he works as a Technical Advisor for a bank in Kuwait since many years.

Nishal Chandra was born on 29 June 1981 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Chandra Mohan and Mani Mohan are his parents. He stayed and schooled in Kuwait till 1990. Following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, his family moved to Kerala where he completed his education. He schooled at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram. He made his film debut as a child artist in the late 1980s. Mohanlal starrer Ayitham was his debut movie, followed by Kizhakkunarum Pakshi, Gandharvam and Aham. All these movies starred Mohanlal in the lead roles. He played Mammootty’s son in super hit film – Jackpot.

He made his television debut through TV series Chapalyam, for which he received Kerala State's Best Child Actor award. He made his Tamil film debut with Faazil’s Kilipechu Kelkava. As an adult actor, Elavankode Desham in 1998 marked his debut. In this movie he played second lead. Mammootty was the lead actor of this commercial failure. After this movie he took break from acting and moved to US. He completed Telecommunications in 2002 and took the job a consultant for a Wall Street investment bank. He also started a software company. He returned to Malayalam movies through For the People (2004) and its sequel, By the People (2006).
