Niraj Sah Biography

Niraj Sah is a celebrity associated with Hindi film industry. He is known as an actor and screenwriter. He has also worked in Hindi television serials. He hails from Nainital, Uttrakhand. He has played character roles on Hindi big screen, and some of his roles include - Oh Darling! Yeh Hai India!, Karamati Coat, Naukar Ki Kameez, Legend of Bhagat Singh, Raja Saheb, Omkara, Ribbon, A Scandal, Pranam Walekum, Khapal and Khakee. He has also co-scripted and written dialogues for a few of the above movies such as Raja Saheb, Haal E Kangaal etc and a few more.

 

Sah was born on 8 June 1960 in Nainital, Uttrakhand. He belonged to a middle class family. His passion to theatre prompted him to do a course in this field, and he enrolled at National School of Drama in New Delhi in 1982 soon after completion of his post-graduation at Kumoun University. During his academic years at Kumoun University itself, he started doing theatre and got interested in this field. He completed his three-year diploma course at NSD in 1985 before starting his professional career in the same field.

 

He has worked extensively in theatre, working with many theatre groups and along with many leading artists and directors of the field. He has worked with famous play directors like Barry John, Fritz Bennewitz, B.M. Shah, Ram Gopal Bajaj etc and has been a part of many hit plays over the years. His success in theatre paved way to cinema and television, though he considers theatre as his first love. He also started writing screenplays and dialogues for films and television since the early 1990s.
