Nikhil Gowda Biography

Nikhil Gowda, son of Karnataka’s CM is a south Indian film actor who works in Telugu and Kannada film industries. He made his acting debut with Kannada-Telugu bilingual movie Jaguar (2016), where he played lead role opposite Deepti Sati. The role earned him SIIMA Award for Best Debutant Actor (Male) – Kannada, and a nomination from same category in Telugu too. He also won TSR Film Award for Best Debutant Actor (Male) –Telugu for his lead role. Jaguar was received well by the audience, and was a box office hit in both Telugu and Kannada languages. Currently he is working on his second project, Muniratna Kurukshetra, a Kannada film directed by Naganna. The movie is expected to release in 2018. He belongs to the third generation in a family full of politicians

His name is also credited as Nikhil Kumar in movies. Nikhil Gowda hails from a very influential political family of Karnataka. He is the grandson of former Indian Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda. His father H. D. Kumaraswamy currently serves as the chief minister of Karnataka. His mother Anitha Kumaraswamy is also a politician, who has served a term as MLA. His father is married to film actress Radhika Kumaraswamy since 2006, and has a child in this marriage. However his parents are not divorced and they are still living together. However after his father assumed power as CM of Karnataka, the controversy has been brought to limelight once again. Famous politician H. D. Revanna is his uncle. Nikhil is married to Swathi Gowda, daughter of famous producer K. C. N. Mohan.

Nikhil marked his film debut with big budget film, Jaguar in 2016. The film made in Kannada and Telugu languages was well received and he owns a promising career ahead. His father has been associated with films as a producer and distributor. He always wanted Nikhil to get into films as hero. During his childhood days, he split his time between his dad’s and mom’s families.
