Nikhil Dwivedi Biography

Nikhil Dwivedi is a film actor who works in Bollywood. He is best known for his debut film, My Name is Anthony Gonsalves released in 2008 which gave him a nomination for the Filmfare Best Male Debut award. He was also a part of Bollywood hits – Hate Story and Shor in the City. Raavan and Tamanchey are his other releases. He is married to model and actress Gowri Pandit since early 2011.

 

Nikhil Dwivedi hails from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh. He was born on 25 November 1979 into a middle-class family. Since his father was into banking profession, the family needed to shift from place to place and for the same reason, Nikhil’s early education was also done at various schools. Later the family shifted to Mumbai during his school days and later secondary education was completed at Nainital, followed by graduation in Mumbai and PG from Pune. He got selected in campus interview of American Express Bank, and similar to his father, he also worked in banking field for a while. He also moved to electronics field, before he finally gave up all of this to pursue acting in films.

 

His decision to pursue a career in acting was not encouraged by his family at first. For the same reason when he received his first major break to star as the lead in My Name is Anthony Gonsalves, he kept it as a secret from his family members. His family got to know about the truth only after seeing an article about his debut film in Filmfare magazine. After that his family fully supported him to pursue a career in acting. He got opportunity to play the role of Hemant in Mani Ratnam’s ambitious project, Guru starring aside Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. He played second lead role in the controversial film, Hate story.
