Niharika Singh Biography

Niharika Singh is a Bollywood actress and model who was crowned Femina Miss India Earth in the year 2005. She debut Bollywood with Ashim Ahluwalia's film Miss Lovely, released in January 2014. This movie, based on C grade film industry in Mumbai was earlier premiered at Cannes Film festival in 2012. She has appeared in several music videos, print ads and television commercials, though it took a long period to enter film industry. She did a star-making performance as Pinky in Miss Lovely, a struggling actress with a shadowy past.  

She was born on 31st August, 1982. She appeared as "Bharat Mata" in a nursery stage show, which is her first stage appearance. Later she participated in many children theatre workshops with Sahitya Kala parishad. Then she studied at a boarding school in Nainital. She started modeling when she was in Dehradun at the age of 17. Then she moved to Delhi for higher studies where she got graduated. She pursued B. Com honors from Shri Ram College of commerce, but dropped the course and moved back to Mumbai as she was not interested in the subject.

Niharika participated in Femina Miss India in 2005 and won the title of Miss India Earth. She also won Miss Photogenic and Miss Beautiful Hair titles and represented India at the Miss Earth pageant held in Manila, Philippines though she couldn’t win the contest. She signed a 10 film contract with Raj Kanwar in 2006. But unfortunately none of these movies were made and thus, she couldn’t enter Bollywood at her glorified time. Then, John Matthew Mathan got her out of the contract and made 'A new love ishtory'. 'Miss Lovely' is her first theatrical release.
