Nidhi Yasha Biography

Nidhi Yasha is a leading costume designer at present. She designs costumes for TV shows and Bollywood movies too. Nidhi has designed costumes for mythological and historical shows such as Buddha for Zee TV and Mahabharat for Star Plus, Devon Ka Dev Mahadev, Chandragupta Maurya, Jodha Akbar and also the show Ramleela – Ajay Devgn Ke Saath. Haunted, Jal, 1920 Evil Returns, Dangerous Ishhq, Maximum, Zilla Ghaziabad, Policegiri etc are some of her Bollywood works. She started her professional career in the year 2008. She is the Founder Director of Mumbai based design house THE NY STUDIO. She established this design house in the year 2009.

She was born in Patna, Bihar in 1983. She is a graduate of NIFT Delhi and she completed the course in 2005. She came to Mumbai in 2008. She worked with a retail brand for men for seven months. Very soon she started designing costumes. She worked with Swastik Pictures during 2009-2011. At present she is one of the leading costume designers of television industry. She received Indian Television Academy Award and Indian Telly award for her work in Shobha Somnath Ki, on Zee TV.

Apart from historical and mythological series, she has styled artists of family soaps such as Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, Anhoniyon Ka Andhera, Shobha Somnath Ki etc. She does extensive research before she designs costumes for TV shows. She also reads historic books to work for historical and mythological series, and she has earned success and fame for such TV shows. She feels that as a costume designer she gets more freedom in cinema than TV shows. She has closely worked with craftsmen from across India for various projects.
