Neyveli R. Narayanan Biography 
Neyveli R. Narayanan is a famous Mrudangam exponent from Tamil Nadu. Hailing from a family of music connoisseurs at Neyveli, he was introduced to the world of music at the age of 7. Sri S.K. Ganesa Pillai was his first guru and he made his first stage performance at the young age of 11. Since then thorough his talents, he has rose to new horizons and has made a distinct mark in the field of carnatic music. The training under Maestro Late Thanjavur Sri Upendran has also provided him the essential tricks of professionalism. He learnt to play the intricacies and specialities of the Tanjore Style in Mrudangam from his guru. Now he teaches students across the globe, not only in India and but also USA, Canada and UK through refresher classes, phone and online classes.
Neyveli R. Narayanan was born to Rajagopalan and Meenakshi in Neyveli, Tamil Nadu. He was born in a family of musicians and was initiated to mrudangam at the age of 7. He was supported and nourished a lot by his parents since young. He is one of the favourite disciples of the Mrudangam Legend Umayalpuram Sri K. Sivaraman. Narayanan is a post graduate in rhythmology from Madras University. He is an 'A-TOP' grade artist and regularly performs on AIR and TV networks. He has accompanied almost all the veterans related to Carnatic music at present.
He has shared the stage with Tabla Wizard Maestro Zakir Hussian, alongside Violin Vidwan Sri Ganesh Kumaresh. He has cut several commercial records with HMV, Rajalakshmi Audio, Music India etc. Narayanan has performed in all the leading sabhas in India.
