Neha Dubey Biography

Neha Dubey is a seasonal theatre artist, who has worked in a few Bollywood films too. She is a psychotherapist by profession, based in Mumbai. She is the daughter of Lillete Dubey, well-known character artist of Bollywood films, apart from known for her contributions to Indian theatre. Neha was active in Bollywood scene in the first half of 2000s, and played supporting roles in a few movies like Munnabhai M. B. B. S. She was also seen in Bow Barracks Forever, Monsoon Wedding, The Perfect Husband, My Bollywood Bride, Bye Bye Miss Goodnight, Sau Jhooth Ek Sach, Manasarovar etc.

Neha Dubey was born in Ahmedabad to Lillete Dubey and her husband Ravi. Neha’s father was earlier associated with Tata group and worked in corporate sector, while her mother was fully involved in theater. Neha was born into an artistic family, with deep bond to theater. Many of her family members are theatre artists, who are associated with films and television too. As Neha has theater background, she too joined acting stream following her mother’s footsteps. Neha’s sister Ira Dubey and her aunt Lushin Dubey are also actors associated with different forms of entertainment.

Acting remained only a passion to Neha, and she took psychotherapy as full-time profession. She trained at the Regent's College School of Psychotherapy in London, and then practised in a couple of hospitals in the city for a brief period before she returned back to Mumbai, where she continued with her practice. She usually played bit roles in school dramas and college plays, and later got opportunity to work in a few Bollywood and independent projects in small cameo roles. While at London too, she had a brief stint with television.
