Neeraj Sood Biography

Neeraj Sood is a Bollywood actor known for playing supporting roles. Matrubhoomi, Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year, Samay and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan are some of his famous character roles. He also plays character roles in Tv soaps. He completed acting diploma from the prestigious National School of Drama, New Delhi before foraying into acting. He has also appeared in Tv ads. Started his film journey in 2002, he has appeared in more than 2 dozen Bollywood films till now. He studied at NSD for three years since 1996.

Neeraj Sood is a native of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. He was born on 18 April 1969. While doing his graduation, he started appearing in college plays and got drawn towards acting. Thus he enrolled at NSD in 1996 and graduated from there in 1999. After studying at Delhi, he reached Mumbai in the late 1990s to pursue his dreams in Bollywood. He was first seen in brief roles in TV soaps before graduating to films. He was first seen in a show of Sony TV – Missing followed by Kagaar, Drishtant, Lekin, Thriller@10, Kadam and B4line.

Less-known film Kali Salwar in 2002 marked his big screen debut in Bollywood. The film was scripted and directed by Fareeda Mehta and starred Sadiya Siddiqui, Irrfan Khan, Kay Kay Menon, Vrajesh Hirjee in main roles. The film was co-produced by National Film Development Corporation of India. The film was shown in many international film festivals, including the Indian Panorama in the International Film Festival of India. After that he started getting brief roles before moving to full-fledged roles. He was later seen in Yahaan, Black & White, Agneepath, Tere Naam, Band Baja Baarat etc.
