Navneet Gautam Biography

Navneet Gautam is a former Indian Kabaddi player who has retired in 2017. He has played in Indian national Kabaddi team as well as Pro Kabaddi League, and has been a defender to his team. He was the man who led the Jaipur Pink Panthers to their inaugural crown, and has been a senior member for his team many years. He was also a member of the Kabaddi team that won a gold medal in the 2010 Asian games in Guangzhou. An experienced player with lot of fans, he has played three Asian games for team India. He is a recipient of the prestigious Arjuna Award, given in the year 2007.

 

Navneet Gautam hails from Jaipur, Rajasthan. He was born on 30th July, 1983. A two-time gold medal winner each in the Asian Games (Guangzhou and Doha), Asian Indoor Games (Vietnam and Macau) and World Cup, he owns a huge fan following crowd, and is a celebrated Kabaddi player of recent times. He has spent around one-and-a-half decade in the field of Kabaddi sports, since he won his first gold medal for Rajasthan in the junior national championship.

 

The 6-foot player is very prominent on the Kabaddi court, especially when he positions himself as a defender in the left corner. He served as the captain of Pink Panthers Jaipur for many seasons till his retirement. He retired in 2017 soon after his team Pink Panthers had a disappointing home match against UP. Pink Panthers, owned by film star Abhishek Bachchan has encouraged him throughout his journey with the team. In his innings with Pro Kabaddi, he has played 21 matches gaining 18 points. After retirement, he prefers to start a second innings as a Kabaddi coach.
