Navaneet Kaur Biography

Navaneet Kaur is a south Indian film actress who predominantly works in Telugu cinema. She has also worked in all other south Indian languages, and Punjabi & Hindi. In 2010, she acted in the Punjabi film Lad Geya Pecha opposite Gurpreet Ghuggi. Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi (2004). Chetna (2005), Jagapathi (2005), Good Boy (2005), and Bhuma (2008) are among her Telugu releases. She had a brief stint with politics, and has unsuccessfully contested 2014 general elections as a candidate of Nationalist Congress Party. In 2011 she got married to a politician, Ravi Rana and retired from films.

Navaneet Kaur was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 3 January 1986. She is of Punjabi origin. Her father was an army official. After secondary school, she left her studies and pursued a career in modelling. She also appeared in six popular music videos before she moved to south to try her luck in films. Kaur made her feature film debut in Darshan, a Kannada film. She made her debut in Telugu with Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi the following year. After that she appeared in a series of Telugu movies, receiving limited success.

She also appeared in Malayalam and Tamil movies, and later worked in Hindi and Punjabi movies too. She contested in Gemini TV’s reality show named Humma Humma. She moved to Punjabi movies in 2010 and worked in a couple of movies - Lad Gaya Pecha and Chhevan Dariya. Both the movies were released in 2010 and later she took a break from films to join politics. In 2011 she married Ravi Rana, an independent MLA from Badnera constituency in Amravati district. It was a mass ceremony, when other 3613 couples also got married.
