Natasha Rastogi Biography

Natasha Rastogi is an Indian actress who works in television and movies. She is a noted stage actress too. She is best known for the powerful role of Parvati Chauhan, mother of Arjun Kapoor she played in Ishaqzaade, the romantic story. Apart from Ishaqzaade (2012), Monsoon Wedding (2001), Chai Pani Etc, Khosla Ka Ghosla (2006), My name is Khan (2010) and Do Dooni Chaar (2010) are her noted movies. Jasoos Vijay, Kunki Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai, Gulaal, Ji Mantri Ji and Powder are her noted television works. She has also appeared in many television commercials and corporate films.

She was born in New Delhi in 1962 to a Hindi professor. She did an acting course in drama while pursuing her graduation. Then she started her career as a drama teacher in Modern School, New Delhi in 1992. During this time she got actively involved in theater works and has directed and choreographed a few plays as well. She regularly choreographed music ballets at school during her professional career. She joined Amal Allana’s professional theatre group in the mid 2000’s. As a stage actress she has earned recognition as well as many awards. She received the best actress award at Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards 2007 for the play Nati Binodini, directed by noted theatre personality, Amal Allana. Through this theater group, she has travelled worldwide as a performer.

She made her acting debut through Mira Nair’s Monsoon Wedding, where she played the supporting role of Sona Varma. Then she has appeared in character roles in a few Bollywood movies, apart from television and print ads.
