Nandini Nair Biography

Nandini Nair is a TV personality and Disc Jockey (DJ) from Kerala. She has gained popularity as a TV host, performer and television anchor. In 2018 she marked her acting debut with award winning director Sanju Surendran’s debut feature film, Aedan playing the lead role of Neetu. As a TV host, she is best known for the show, Hello Namaste. Nandini Nair is one among the rare but successful female disc jockeys from the state of Kerala, and she takes the stage name DJ Envy for her performances. She is Kochi’s only female resident DJ, who has successfully marked her space in this male-dominated sphere.

Nandini Nair hails from Thiruvalla of Pathanamthitta district, Kerala. She started her professional career as a Video Jockey for Asianet Dubai, and since then she has hosted many live shows in India and abroad. She is a popular television anchor for the Malayalam channel Mazhavil Manorama. It was during her days in Dubai when she initially came to know about DJing. She was more into dancing, and found the DJ clubs and parties a good platform to dance and have fun with friends. That’s how she got into this field. She started to select and mix tracks she wanted, which was not at all an easy job, and she also faced restrictions from family during early days.

She got a chance to go to Delhi, where her dreams bloomed. She got a guide, and later she moved to Kochi, where she made a mark of her own in the field of DJing. In 2014, she exposed a ‘producer’ who demanded sexual favors through a FB post, for the price of Rs 5 lakhs in return for the chance to act in one of his movies. When she exposed it through her Facebook post, the producer immediately went offline and even changed his profile name!
