Nakshatra Babu Biography

Nakshatra Babu, popularly called Nakshatra is a south Indian film actress, who works in Malayalam and Kannada movies. She is the youngest daughter of famous Kannada film director D. Rajendra Babu and former actress Sumithra. Her elder sister, Umashankari is also an actress. She is associated with film industry since 2009 and has done around a dozen of films, belonging to Malayalam and Kannada cinema, and earned appreciation for her acting skills.

Her full name is Nakshatra Rajendra Babu. She was born in 1990 into a filmy family with many artists linked to the entertainment world. As her father D. Rajendra Babu was a famous director, and her mother and sister, popular actresses, Nakshatra got attracted to the world of movies and acting since young. She always wanted to become an actress, and following the footsteps of her mother and elder sister, she reached the same field. She completed Biotech studies at the Erode Sengunthar Engineering College before she got active in films.

Nakshatra was spotted by director Sunil Kumar Desai at a function when she was 17. He called her mother Sumitra and offered her a role in Saregama. Her second signed role was Gokula, and the movie got released first in 2009 marking her Kannada film debut. She marked her Tamil debut with Doo and Kananda debut with Hare Rama Hare Krishna, and both the movies were released in 2011. She appeared in a Malayalam film for the first time in 2012 and the film was titled Vaidooryam.

After that she accepted many roles in Kannada and Malayalam, and achieved limited success. She appeared in less-known Malayalam movies - For sale, Village Guys, Oru New Generation Pani, Kili Paadum Gramam. None of these roles could revive her career. Malayalam film Village Guys, she shared screen space with her mother for the second time.
