Naina Das Biography

Naina Das is a leading film actress associated with Odiya film industry. She has also appeared in TV shows and serials. She is a very successful TV anchor. Das has also done a few south Indian movies in Telugu such as Junction By Dolu and Sambho shiv shambho. One of the most sought after and respected actors in the Oriya film industry, she has also appeared in Bengali and Chhattisgarhi movies. She became a household name after she anchored a health show, "Kalyani" - one of the longest running shows on Oriya Television.

Naina was born in 1990. She started her professional career while studying in class 12. She started off as a TV host for Prathama Swara, a reality show on OTV. In 2002 she acted in Raju Mishra’s Duhita, which earned her an award for best supporting role. Since then she is fully active in the entertainment industry. She hosted many reality, dance and music shows and also played female protagonist in several serials on various TV channels. Maa Mangala released in 2002 marked her big screen debut.

Since young she wanted to become a singer. She also completed graduation from the Utkal Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in Odissi vocal. But destiny was something else. During her college days she was fully active in her professional life and she accepted TV shows and serials. For the same reason she couldn’t enjoy her college life and always ran short of attendance. Yet she completed Masters in PR and Advertising from Utkal University, later MBA and never compromised her studies for a career.

In 2005 she was voted as the Best anchor on Oriya Television. In 2004 she received Sadvabana award for best film actress and best anchor of the year from AB Visuals. Munna-A Love Story and Puja Pain Phulatie are her noted movie appearances. She played the role of Surya Teja’s girlfriend in Telugu flick - Sambho shiv shambho.
