N. Chandrababu Naidu Biography

N. Chandrababu Naidu was born on 20th April 1950. He is a politician and was in the office as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from 1995 to 2004. He served in this post as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for two terms continuously. He holds the record of longest serving Chief Minister in the history of the state. Again in 2014, the Telugu Desam Party (led by Naidu) returned to power, in the state of Andhra Pradesh winning 102 seats out of 175 seats. He became the Chief minister again. He is the founder of Heritage foods.

 

N. Chandrababu Naidu was born in Naravari Palle village of Chittoor district. His father was N. Kharjura Naidu and mother was Ammanamma. His father is an agriculturist and his mother is housewife. He married Bhuvaneswari and has a son named Lokesh. He did his schooling at Chandragiri Government High School and did his Masters’ Degree in Economics at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.

 

He was very active when he was a student and was the president of the students’ wing. He was pursuing the Ph.D degree when he entered politics. He was elected as an MLA from the Chandragiri Constituency in the year 1978 and served as the youngest Minister of the Cabinet in Congress. From his father-in-law, N. T. Rama Rao, he took over the post of chief minister on 1st September 1995, supported by D. Venkateshwara Rao, the second son-in-law of NTR. On October 11th, 1999, his second tenure as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh began.

 

He luckily could survive in a land mine blast. This is said to be an attempt to assassinate him. However he escaped with a small fracture. This happened when he was going to the Lord Venkateswara Temple in the Tirumala hills for Brahmotsavam festival held annually. Other important persons who were injured in the blast are State Information Technology Minister B. Gopalakrisha Reddy, Telugu Desam legislators, Ch. Krishnamurthy, and R. Rajasekhar Reddy. The driver Srinivasa was also injured. The investigations said that the armored vehicle was the main reason for his survival.
