Murali Karthik Biography 
Murali Karthik is an Indian cricketer from Chennai, Tamil Nadu who has represented National team for many international matches during the period 2000-2007. He is a spin bowler for his team, and has played some fantastic cricket in domestic cricket and IPL matches as well. He is a specialist slow left arm orthodox bowler who has played 8 test matches and 37 ODIs for team India, taking 24 and 37 wickets respectively. 6/27 is his best bowling performance in ODI format. He has played more than 200 first class matches. He has also been a member of Lancashire, Middlesex, Somerset and Surrey - English county cricket teams.
Though he has been associated with Indian team for several years, his selection for different tournaments have been blocked due to the presence of great Indian spinners - Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh. He occasionally came in and goes out of Indian National team during his international career. Though he has been an all-rounder in domestic cricket level who scored 19 half centuries in the first class cricket, he has failed as a batsman in the international cricket scene. Murali Karthik has been associated with IPL games since 2008, and has played for Kolkata Knight Riders, Pune Warriors India, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab till 2014.
He was born in Chennai in 1976. He wanted to become an engineer during his younger years. With great passion to cricket, he wanted to become a pace bowler during his teens. He started off as a pace bowler and later switched to a left arm finger spinner. He started off playing cricket with Delhi and later moved to Railways. He got selected for the Indian Under-19 team and later made his first-class debut in 1996–97. He made his international debut in the year 2000, and played his first test match against South Africa in February. He made his ODI debut in 2002 against Zimbabwe.
