Muktha (actress) Biography

Muktha is a south Indian film actress who appears in Tamil and Malayalam movies. Her full name is Muktha Elsa George and also known by her stage name, Bhanu. She is a classical dancer and an entrepreneur too. She debut film industry in the year 2005 with Malayalam movies, Otta Nanayam and Achanurangatha Veedu and later worked in Tamil movies also. She was the lead actress of critically well acclaimed Malayalam movie Achanurangatha Veedu, where she beautifully played the role of a teenager and rape victim. This movie is remembered for the matured acting skills of comedian Salim Kumar, who played serious role of a father in this movie. Muktha played Salim Kumar’s younger daughter’s role. In 2006, she appeared in Telugu movie, Photo.

Muktha was born in Kerala in 1991. She did her schooling at St. Augustine's Girls Higher Secondary School, Kothamangalam and has worked as a child artist during her school days. She appeared in Amrita TV’s serial, Swaram before entering cinema. Her debut movie Achanurangatha Veedu was released when she was studying in class 8. Her role was well appreciated and even surprised everyone. She was later seen in Goal, Kancheepurathe Kalyanam, Hailesa, Chaverpada, Avan, Ee Thirakkinidayil, The film star, Emmanuel, Mantrikan, Holidays and Nasrani. She is a trained classical dancer also. Now she manages a beauty salon also.

She made her successful entry into Tamil film industry through the film Thaamirabharani opposite Vishal. She received a nomination at Vijay Award for Best Debut Actress for this role. Later she appeared in Tamil movies like - Rasigar Manram, Azhagar Malai, Pudhumugangal Thevai, Moondru Per Moondru Kadhal, Sattapadi Kutram etc. Her upcoming Tamil projects include – Vaaimai and Sagunthalavin Kadhalan and Malayalam projects include - Room No. 9B and Ginger.
