Mrunalinni Patil Biography 
Dr. Mrunalinni Patil is a noted film maker of Marathi cinema. Known as one of the successful female producer cum director of Marathi cinema, she has also produced one Bollywood movie - Kagaar: Life on the Edge with ace actors Om Puri and Nandita Das. As a Marathi film director, Kaay Raav Tumhi released in 2015 is her latest release, based on Bollywood comedy ‘Shaukeens’. Padmini Kolhapure and Milind Gunaji starring Manthan: Ek Amrut Pyala (2006) and Raakhandaar (2014) starring Jitendra Joshi, Anuja sathe and Ajinkya Deo are her other releases as a director. She produced Raakhandaar. Young and budding actor Shivam Patil of Nasha fame is her son.
She is the daughter of noted politician - Suryakanta Patil, who was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha. She has also served as the Minister of State in the Ministry of Rural Development and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs. Mrunalinni Patil is a qualified doctor by profession who has been working for the welfare of society for two decades or so. She started making films and short films to express the socio-economic problems and stress that existed in the Indian society and to reform the society by her own means.
“Kagaar: Life on the Edge” in 2006 was her first full-length movie as a film producer. The movie is based on the true life story of a Mumbai cop cum encounter specialist sub-inspector Daya Nayak. The movie was well appreciated by critics and audience alike. She has also done one short film, Adopt A Girl. Manthan: Ek Amrut Pyala was based on domestic violence and alcoholism. Thus through her movies, she showed the socio-economic problems of the society and its solutions as well.
