Mrunal Thakur Biography

Mrunal Thakur is a noted actress of Hindi television entertainment who plays female lead in shows. She has played lead role in a couple of Marathi films - Vitti Dandu and Surajya, both released in 2014. She is best known for playing the female protagonist in the crime series, Arjun, aired on Star Plus during the period 2012-2014. She is to play a pivot role in Salman Khan’s upcoming Bollywood release – Sultan. She played the female lead in the first production venture of Ajay Devgan - Vitti Dandu in 2014 and the movie was a major success. Kumkum Bhagya, Arjun and Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan are her television works till now, apart from a few dance performances.

 

Mrunal was born in Nagpur on 1 August 1992. She has two siblings. She got her first break to television in 2013, while at college. Mujhse Kuchh Kehti...Yeh Khamoshiyaan marked her television debut, where she played the role of Gauri Bhonsle Gaikwad. She, along with Barun Sobti also hosted a Hindi play called Do Fool Chaar Mali. In 2013, she got the major break in television when she was offered the female protagonist in Arjun, aired on Star Plus. In the show she essayed a crime/investigative journalist who help the ETF team to solve criminal cases. In real life too, she is pursuing journalism.

 

She became a household name after the success of this series and it helped to bag a couple of Marathi films as well. She played female lead in two Marathi films in 2014, Vitti Dandu and Surajya and has made a promising debut. She played the role of Bulbul in the show 'Kumkum Bhagya'. She paired with sharad Chandra Tripathi for the celebrity dance show – Nach baliye Season 7. With ‘Sultan’ she is to make a promising Bollywood debut.
