Mrudhula Basker Biography

Mrudhula Basker is an Indian actress who predominantly works in south Indian films. She is also known under the stage name, Naveena. As of now she has appeared in three different language south Indian films – Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. Marumunai in 2014 gave her the first break to acting career. She played lead roles in the Tamil movies Marumunai and Thilagar. Ice Cream 2 in 2014 and Bablusha in 2016 gave her first break to Telugu and Kannada films respectively and she also appeared in Thilagar in 2015. She has done 5 movies till now, belonging to three different languages.

Mrudhula Bhasker also known as a Naveena hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. She graduated in Law from CMR Law School. Mrudhula is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and performer. She started learning dance at the age of three under the guidance of Padmini Ramachandran. She now runs a Bharatanatyam dance institution called ‘Nritya Moksh’ in Kalyanagar. Mrudhula has been a performer on stage in many cultural events, stage shows, award functions etc in India and abroad. She also performed at International Dance and Film Festival (GAMA Awards 2015) in Dubai.

Her versatility in classical dance forms and live stage performances gave her opportunity to films. She mostly plays lead roles onscreen. She started her career in acting through the film ‘Marumunai’ released in 2014, where she played the role of Charumathi onscreen. She was paired opposite Nakul in the Tamil sports drama ‘Vallinam’. She made her Kannada debut with ‘Bablusha’, a period drama where she got opportunity to exhibit her dance skills. She is not active in film industry right now.
