Mridula Sinha Biography 
Mridula Sinha is an Indian writer, politician and administrator from the state of Bihar, who currently serves as the state governor of Goa since 26 August 2014. Her husband Ram Kripal Sinha is also a politician and parliamentarian who is a former minister of state in the Government of India and a cabinet minister in the Government of Bihar. Mridula Sinha is also associated with Bharatiya Janata Party, and was a member of the national executive of BJP till she was appointed as the governor of Goa. She earlier served as the Chairperson of Central Social Welfare Board.
Mridula Sinha is best known as a writer as well. She has authored many books including many novels and a biography of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia titled Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi, which was later made to a feature film in Hindi, with Hema Malini playing the titular role. It was the last film release of Vinod Khanna. She published Bihar ki lok kathayen – an anthology of stories in two volumes. Nari na kathputli na udanpari, Apna jivan, Dekhan mein choten lagen, Sita puni boli, Gharwaas, Nayi devyani and Jyon mehandi ko rang are a few more published works.
Mridula Sinha was born on 27 November 1942 in Chhapra Dharampur Yadu village in Muzaffarpur district in Bihar. Babu Chhabile Singh and Anupa Devi were her parents. She married well-known politician Ram Kripal Sinha, and entered politics later only. She has been a college lecturer based in Muzaffarpur town, while her marriage was arranged with Sinha. After marriage she took PG degree in Psychology. Later she left her teaching job and started a school in Muzaffarpur. Her writing career also began only after marriage, when her husband encouraged her to write stories.
