Moon Banerrjee Biography

Moon Banerrjee is a successful actress associated with Hindi television industry. Her supporting role as Sampada Basu in the very popular soap drama of Ekta Kapoor, Kasautii Zindagii Kay shot her to super fame. Asha Bose in Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, Panna Raunak Sharma in Sasural Genda Phool and Damayanti in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani are a couple of memorable roles she played later. She has also done a Telugu film titled Yagnam. She is married to executive producer Neeraj Sharma and the couple has one son.

 

Moon Banerrjee hails from West Bengal. She was born in Kolkata on 23 April 1979. She grew up in Jamshedpur and Mumbai. She started her career in modelling as a child, when she was studying in school. She was spotted by a photographer who approached her for a calendar shoot, and Moon accepted. After a few assignments in modelling industry, she concentrated on to her studies. After studies, she started her professional career as an actress working in a Bangladeshi film. She then worked as a model in Indian entertainment industry and appeared in over a 100 ads in the 2000s.

 

Later she received many roles from television and earned success and recognition. She got her first break to television through Balaji Telefilms’ Kasautii Zindagii Kay, where she essayed the role of Sampada Basu. The show’s big success helped her to earn initial recognition, and her role too got appreciated. Sasural Genda Phool was her second show. While doing the show, she tied the knot with her friend Neeraj Sharma who was working as an executive producer with Ram Gopal Verma. The couple met each other through a common friend and had hit it off immediately. They got hitched in 2010.
