Monami Ghosh is a popular actress of Bengali entertainment industry who appears in films and serials. She is quite popular with her television roles. In fact she shot to fame with the Bengali series - Binni Dhaner Khoi, which successfully ran for a long time. In fact when the series took a leap of 21 years, she portrayed the role of both middle aged 45-year old Mohar and her daughter 21-year old Maati. She handled both the roles with ease. She is a popular film actress too and was most recent seen in a supporting role in Bela Seshe (2015) directed by the duo Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee.

Monami was born on 13 July 1984 in Basirhat, North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. She started her acting career at the age of only 17 with television soaps. Saat Kahonw aired on DD Bangla marked her acting debut in the year 2001. Since then she is associated with Bangla entertainment industry for the past 15 years. She has appeared in about 25 television soaps during this period in title roles and has done a few movies too. Yet she is quite familiar to audience as a TV actress. Barsha in Ekdin Pratidin on Zee Bangla, Komolika of Kon Shey Alor Swapno Niye on Aakaash and Zeenat of Ek Akasher Niche on Zee Bangla are among her favourite roles.

Ekdin Pratidin, Punyi Pukur, Hiyar Maajhe, Kaal, Pratiksha Ektu Bhalobashar, Binni Dhaner Khoi, Kon Shey Alor Swapno Niye and Sonar Horin are among her popular TV roles. She became a household name after playing the female lead in Binni Dhaner Khoi. Her title role as Ananya in DD series - Pratiksha Ektu Bhalobashar also gave her an identity. She plays female lead in most of her TV shows like Kaal, Binni Dhaner Khoi etc. She has also done a few character roles on big screen in the recent times - Ek Mutho Chobi, Bhooter Bhabishyat , Bela Seshe, Ogo Bodhu Sundari and Bhallu Sardar to mention a few. She is also busy with her dance shows.
