Mona Singh is an Indian model and television actress. She is better known as ‘Jassi’ as she played the female protagonist in the most popular serial of Sony television, Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. She has also appeared as elder sister of Kareena Kapoor in blockbuster hit, 3 Idiots. She has also hosted many television shows and award nights. She had to keep her real identity secret for almost two years as a part of the success of the serial, Jassi jaissi koi nahin. She appeared herself as the ugliest heroine of a television show. During the second innings, she appeared in her real image too, surprising everyone. Jassi successfully ran in ‘home theaters’ during the period, 2003 to 2006. She is one of the most sought after anchors at award functions right now.

Mona was born on October 8, 1979 in Punjab in a Sikh family. She has an elder sister who lives in New Zealand. She has been raised in Pune and Nagpur. After the most popular serial, Jassi jaissi koi nahin, she was the wiinner of the show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa on Sony Entertainment Television. In March 2007, she became the brand ambassador for the Sony channel exclusively for 13 months. She hosted Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 on Sony and Extra Shots on Set Max. She has also hosted Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega in 2011 in Sony television. She is one of the most sought celebrities of Sony television in the recent times. Now she plays the lead role of ‘Kya Huaa Tera Vaada’ as Mona.

In 2003, she won Outstanding Debut and Best Actress in Drama Series at Apsara awards for her dream entry role of ‘Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin’. Indian Telly Awards, Indian Television Academy Awards and Boroplus Gold Awards are other awards received by her.
