Mirthika Biography

Mirthika (Chandini Sreedharan ) is a south Indian actress who made her debut through Tamil movies. Ainthu Ainthu Ainthu (555) was her debut movie released in 2013, which was well received by both critics and audience. Basically she is a Bharatnatyam dancer and performer, who performs in USA. She stayed at Wisconsin and has been a performer of arts since early days. She is to play the female lead Malar, in Thollaikatchi - an upcoming Tamil romantic comedy film directed by M. Sadiq Khan. Ashwin Kakumanu plays the lead hero role. She played female lead opposite Unni Mukundan for the Malayalam movie - KL 10 Patthu.

Though Mirthika was born in Kozhikode, Kerala her family is settled in USA. Basically she is a Bharatnatyam dancer and a performer. She came to Kerala from US when she got an opportunity to appear in a Malayalam reality show - ‘Big Break’. After seeing the show, Tamil director Sasi offered her first role in Tamil cinema. Actually Sasi was impressed with Mirthika’s innocence while she interacts with the judges of the show. The director wanted a similar girl for his film, which had been in production since 2008. He called her parents, sought their permission and then only asked Mirthika to do this role.

In this suspense thriller she played the double role of Liyana and Paayal. She was paired with Bharath, who played the character of Aravind in this movie. The film with suspense and twists released on 10 August 2013 to positive reviews and was a commercial success. It was a delayed project started in 2008 and was released under the banner Chennai Cinema (India) Private Ltd. Erica Fernandes and Santhanam also played pivot roles in this movie. She made her Telugu debut through – Chakkiligintha in 2014, and she took the screen name Rehena.

Nadia Moidu and Shalini are her favourite actresses. Shobana is Manichitra thaazhu is her dream role. She would like to work with all leading directors at present. She respects director Sasi a lot and says he is a wonderful person who explains everything, and also teaches at least one thing new every day in the sets.
