Michael Thangadurai Biography

Michael Thangadurai is a film actor associated with Tamil cinema. But he is better known as dancer who won the reality show on Vijay TV - Jodi Number One in Season 3 along with Hemalatha, a popular television actress of Thendral fame. As a film actor, he is best known for the romantic film - Nalanum Nandhiniyum, and the crime thriller – Burma both released in 2014. He starred aside popular actress Nanditha in Nalanum Nandhiniyum. But the movie received cold response from critics and audience. He was paired with Reshmi Menon for the crime thriller, which was well appreciated by critics for the attempt. Earlier he appeared in 2010 movie, Kanimozhi, playing a supporting role.

Michael Thangadurai studied dance in ‘Foot Loose’, an initiative and dance school by M.Edwin. The school is known for winning streak done many contestants before – either through national level competitions or reality shows on television. He won the reality show on Vijay TV - Jodi Number One in Season 3 along with Hemalatha, which proved to be the real breakthrough of his career. Since then he was able to approach directors with confidence and is quite popular among people as well. Nalanum Nandhiniyum was his first release after the reality show.

In 2011, he married reality show contestant – Vandana and both have participated in the reality show - Vijay TV’s Boys Vs Girls. Though he appeared in 2010 movie, Kanimozhi, Nalanum Nandhiniyum can be credited as his first movie and he played solo hero in this film. The movie was his learning experience, and his reality show helped him to bag the role.
