MG Srinivas Biography

MG Srinivas is an actor, director and screenwriter associated with Kannada film industry. He has also directed award winning short films. His short film, Simply Kailawesome won the Platinum Remi Award at Houston Film Festival in 2011. In 2013 he marked his directorial debut in Kannada cinema with political satire film starring Upendra and Bhavana – Topiwala. The film was a commercial success. He also had a brief stint as Radio jockey before he moved into films. He was a dance choreographer too. He is shortly addressed as MGS by film fraternity.

MGS hails from Bangalore, Karnataka. After his graduation, he started his career as a dance choreographer and also delivered a couple of stage performances. In 2007, he joined RedFM as a professional Radio jockey and anchored the show, 'Blade Raja'. The show hosted in the morning was an instant hit, and he continued in this job for next three years before he moved to film stream. By that time he recognized his true passion in film making, and began with short films. His first short movie, "Rules" was a slapstick comedy and caught everyone’s attention. His second short film, Simply Kailawesome won the Platinum Remi Award at Houston Film Festival in 2011.  

He marked his film debut as an actor in 2010 in a supporting role. He played a brief role in Just Maath Maathalli as Ramya's music freak brother. He got more serious about acting, did an acting course and made the short film "Simply Kailawesome". In 2013, he marked his directorial debut with the commercial hit, Topiwala. His second movie, Srinivasa Kalyana was a romantic comedy entertainer released in 2017 which received over all positive reviews. He also marked his acting debut in a lead role with this film.
