Meenal Jain Biography 
Meenal Jain is an Indian playback singer who sings in Bollywood. She was also a contestant of India’s first singing reality show, Indian Idol, aired on Sony TV. She participated in its second edition in 2006 and finished at 7th position. The show helped her to earn initial recognition and offers from music industry. She sang the song "Sakhi" on Aamir Khan's show Satyamev Jayate which depicted domestic violence. As a Bollywood playback singer, some of her hit songs include - Banarasiya from Raanjhanaa, Cutie Pie from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Gaye Kaam Se from Laila Majnu and the most recent Kundali from Manmarziyaan.
Meenal Jain was born on 14 June 1985 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. She has one elder sister who is a trained Indian classical dancer, and she became a reason for Meenal to choose music career. When she was 11 years old, she heard her elder sister singing a classic hit song from 1965 film, Guide. She was practising the song for a show, which young Meenal listened to, and when she performed on stage, young Meenal too insisted to sing on stage before others. She was invited on stage by composer Ravindra Jain who was the chief guest of the show, and also encouraged and motivated her.
Very soon Meenal urged her parents to allow her to join Suresh Wadkar's training institute in Mumbai. She was only 11 years old when she shifted to Mumbai for her music training. But she didn’t stay long, and homesickness affected her. She returned back to her hometown after three months of training. Later she came back to Mumbai, and studied music from different gurus. She also completed her graduation from Mithibai College, Mumbai, and her parents supported her decision with whole heart. Apart from playback singing, she has worked as a dubbing artist in the industry, and has appeared in music shows with some of the leading playback singers like Sonu Nigam, Abhijeet Sawant, Amit Sana, Rex D'Souza etc.
