Maryam Zakaria is a Swedish-Iranian actress and model who appears in Indian movies. She has appeared as item girl in many popular dance sequences. She played the role of the teacher Rose in multi-star cast Bollywood blockbuster of 2013, Grand Masti, directed by Indra Kumar. The move starred Ritesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani in lead roles and is the sequel of 2002 hit – Masti. She was casted opposite Aftab Shivdasani in this movie. Her item numbers in Bollywood movies - Rowdy Rathore and D-Day are popular.

 
Maryam Zakaria was born on 27 September 1984 in Tehran, Iran. She has worked as a model, dance teacher and choreographer in Sweden before her entry to Indian movies. She also established the first Bollywood Dance School in Sweden and named it Indisk Dans Studio. She moved to Mumbai in 2009 to get roles in Bollywood. She worked as a model and also appeared in many television commercials during this time. Set Wet, Layz and Coco Cola are her most popular ads. She appeared aside Imran Khan in the coke ad. She has also appeared in a few music videos.

 
Her first Bollywood appearance was for the movie, Paying guest in 2009 where she appeared in a dancing number. It was followed by an item song for Tamil movie, Nagaram. "Diyalo Diyala" from 100% Love was her real breakthrough. She has appeared in item songs of both Bollywood and south Indian movies. She played the role of Farah, the girl rescued by Saif Ali Khan from a Taliban camp (in the beginning of the film). She was also seen in the item song "Dil Mera Muft Ka" alongside Kareena Kapoor in the movie. This particular song was the movie’s highlight and Maryam gained instant stardom through this single song.
