Manoj Bhawuk Biography

Manoj Bhawuk is an Indian writer and poet who writes Bhojpuri poetry. He is also known as a Bhojpuri actor, film critic of Bhojpuri films, television presenter and screen writer. He is associated with Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, writing scripts. His collection of ghazals titled, Tasveer zindagi ke won Bhartiya Bhasha Parishad Award in 2006. He is widely known as "Encyclopedia of Bhojpuri Cinema", and a well-known film critic. His real name is Manoj Kumar Singh, and he was an engineer by profession before joining entertainment industry.

 

Manoj Bhawuk was born on 2 January 1976 in Kausar, Bihar. Manoj Bhawuk is the screenname of real name is Manoj Kumar Singh. Ram Deo Singh and Sunaina Devi are his parents and he had three siblings. He was brought up in Renukoot in Uttar Pradesh. His father worked in HINDALCO, and was a trade union leader. Since young he participated in speech and debate competitions all over India, and used to participate in Ramleela of Renukoot where he was brought up. As he had inclination towards art and cinema, he completed his diploma in Drama from Bihar Art Theater, Patna.

 

He holds an engineering degree in Plastics Engineering and Technology, and also worked in this sector as an engineer for a while. He worked in Uganda and Hadam Water United Kingdom for many years, before he called it quit. Then he returned to India and joined film and television media industry. He joined Patna Doordarshan and worked as a journalist. While working with Doordarshan he got his first acting role through hojpuri serial Saanchi Piritiya. The following year he wrote the first script for Doordarshan, Tahre se Ghar Basaib and thus started a successful beginning as a screenwriter.
