Manjula Ghattamaneni Biography

Manjula Ghattamaneni is an Indian film producer and actress whose works are mostly concentrated on Telugu cinema. She is the daughter of Telugu superstar Krishna Ghattamaneni. She began her acting career by doing a cameo role in the 1999 film Rajasthan and appeared as one among the 5 cousins of Summer in Bethlehem (Malayalam) the same year. But due to unfavorable response from her father's fans, she later concentrated as a film producer and became successful as well.

In 2002, she produced the Telugu movie, Show which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and National Film Award for Best Screenplay. She owns a film production company called Indira Productions, named after her mother, Indira Devi. Telugu actors Ramesh Babu and Mahesh Babu are her brothers. Bollywood actress and model Namrata Shirodkar is her sister-in-law. Manjula is married to producer and actor Sanjay Swaroop. Vijaya Nirmala, the female director who had made the highest number of films is her step mother. Actor Sudheer Babu is married to her younger sister Priyadarshini and thus Manjula’s brother-in-law.

She is the third child of veteran actor Krishna Ghattamaneni and Indira Devi, born in the year 1970. She has two brothers and two sisters. She began her acting career doing a cameo as a terrorist in R. K. Selvamani's Rajasthan. In 2002, she entered production. She produced and starred in the film Show, which won National award for best regional film. Her second production venture was Naani released in 2004. Pokiri, Kavya’s Diary and Ye Maaya Chesave are her other movies as a producer. Both Ye Maaya Chesave and Pokiri won Nandi awards for best feature film and best popular film respectively. She also appeared in the Telugu movie Orange alongside her husband.
