Manjeet Kullar Biography

Manjeet Kullar is an Indian actress who works in films and television. She has been regular in Bollywood and Punjabi movies in the 1980s and also 1990s, portraying both lead and supporting roles. Yet she couldn’t make it big or could gain stardom. But she created a niche of her own through a few memorable roles she did on big and small screen, for different languages, particularly in Punjabi big screen. Some of her popular Bollywood roles include - Tehkhaana, Dil Ka Kya Kasoor, Dhadkan, Ikke Pe Ikka, Mohabbat Ke Dushman, Mr. Bond, Yalgar, Paandav, Sahibaan and Yalgaar and in most of them she was seen playing character roles. She was also seen in year 2000 Bollywood hit movies, Mohabbatein and Dhadkan.

Manjeet Kullar has worked in many popular and successful Punjabi movies too. Most of them were released in the 1990s; Mirza Sahiban, Vairee, Mirza Jatt, Deson Pardeson, Jaildaar, Main Maa Punjab Dee, Pachtawa, and Ishq Nachavye Gali Gali to mention a few. She started with Bollywood movies in the mid-1980s, and later to Punjabi cinema in the 1990s and finally settled with Punjabi television serials. She was last seen in Mehndi Wale Hath, a Punjabi television serial in 2006. She played the role of a wicked mother-in-law in the series. Currently she has been associated with a few less-known Punjabi movies.

For Hindi television audience, she is best known as Kausalya for Doordarshan’s Shaktiman, the popular show of kids of 1990s. Dastaan-e-Hatimtai, Om Namah Shivay, Zimbo, Mehendi Tere Naam Ki and Aaryamaan - Brahmaand Ka Yoddha are other television shows she was seen. Though she couldn’t gain big roles in Bollywood, she became immensely popular through the Punjabi films in which she acted. Her maiden name is Manjeet Kaur, and her early movies are credited with this name. She was first seen in 1985 Hindi film, Misaal.
