Manjari Phadnis Biography

Manjari Phadnis is an Indian actress and model, most known for her supporting role in 2007 Bollywood Blockbuster - Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na. She played the role of Meghna, Imran Khan’s Girlfriend in this movie. Though she has earlier debut Bollywood with 2004 movie, Rok Sako To Rok Lo and appeared in 2007 movie - Mumbai Salsa, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na was her real break to Bollywood. She has acted in all south Indian languages and her first Malayalam movie, Mr. Fraud is to release in 2014 where the lead role is played by Mohanlal. She has also appeared in Bengali movies.



She was born on July 10, 1984 in Pune as the daughter of an Army officer. Thus she has travelled throughout India in her childhood because of her father’s transferable job. Phadnis started her film career with Rok Sako To Rok Lo in 2004. The movie was not noticed. She played lead role opposite Yash Pandit in this movie. Two years later, she acted in National Film Award-winning Bengali feature film Faltu. Again, she was paired with Yash Pandit. But this critically acclaimed movie was a flop. Her third release was Mumbai salsa in 2006, this movie too was a flop. Supporting role in ‘Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na’ (2008) brought her to limelight. Same year, she debut South Indian cinema with Telugu movie - Siddu From Sikakulam.



In 2009, she debut Tamil with thriller Muthirai directed by Srinath, where she got opportunity to work with Daniel Balaji, Nithin Sathya and Lakshmi Rai. Inkosaari (2010), Shubhapradham (2010), and Shakti (2011) are her Telugu releases till now. In 2013, her two Bollywood movies were released – blockbuster Grand Masti and Warning. Wahtaj and Zokkomon are her other Hindi movies.
