Manish Vatsalya Biography

Manish Vatsalya is a Bollywood filmmaker and actor known for his debut flick - Jeena Hai Toh Thok Daal. He also scripted the movie, which later turned to be a disaster of the year 2012. However the movie won Mexico International Film Festival 2012 for Best Foreign film. The film also remained in spotlight due to its controversial subject and the song "Mooh Mein Le", which didn’t go well with Siva Sena. Manish is also known as the model for Kailash Kher’s popular music video – Teri Deewani. Dussehra is his upcoming flick as a screenwriter and director, and the movie stars Neil Nitin Mukesh, Manish Vatsalya and Tina Desai in lead roles. The movie belongs to thriller genre.

Manish is a dentist turned filmmaker. He was born in Purnia, Bihar in the year 1980. Manish Vatsalya was born in an affluent family. Shambhu Nath Mishra and Hiran Mishra are his parents. His younger brother Ashish Vatsalya is an engineer. He completed dentistry at Dharbhanga Medical College. Though he planned to start a clinic at home, acting bug bit him and he switched his career. His decision was not supported by his family members and he moved to Mumbai to pursue his dreams. It was not easy for him to achieve success in a field which was quite unfamiliar to him. Mumbai too was a strange city.

After initial struggles he got opportunity to appear in the music video - ‘Teri Deewani’ by Kailash Kher, which turned to be an instant hit. In 2012 he made his directorial debut with Jeena Hai Toh Thok Daal, where he played lead role too. It was Producer Aparna Hoshing who encouraged him to take direction as well. Dussehra is his upcoming flick stated to release.
