Manikandan Pattambi Biography

Manikandan Pattambi is an Indian actor associated with Malayalam entertainment industry, best known for comic roles. He plays supporting roles on big and small screen and is also known as a stage actor. As a television actor he shot to fame playing the character role of Sathyasheelan in the sitcom Marimayam, which made him a recognized figure in Kerala. His comic role got well connected with TV viewers and also bagged him Kerala State Television Award for Best Comedian in 2012. He also has handful of film roles since early 2000s. Currently he is concentrating to his television career and currently plays an important role of Kanakan in the sitcom Aliyan v/s Aliyan since 2017.

 

Manikandan Pattambi hails from Pattambi, Palakkad, Kerala. Prabhapuram is his native village. He is married and has two daughters. He was first seen in Man Kolangal in year 2000, and was later seen in a brief role in the iconic comedy and very popular Vedi Vazhipad (offerings to temple) scene in 2002 blockbuster, Meesa Madhavan. Though the role as man at the temple counter was very brief, it earned him recognition and more roles from Malayalam cinema.

 

Till now he has done small and full length roles on silver screen for more than 50 Malayalam films. He appeared for a TV show for the first time in 2010 – Chakkarabharani. After that he has been a part of several comic shows including sitcoms which earned him recognition as an entertainer. Marimayam, Nirupama Fans, Bhasi & Bahadoor, Grand Kerala Circus and Aliyan v/s Aliyan are some of his roles on small screen. He appeared in Malayalam movies such as Kaliyachan, Blackberry, SIM, Celluloid, 101 Chodyangal, Best Actor etc.
