Manhar Udhas Biography 
Manhar Udhas is a successful Bollywood playback singer most popular for folk, ghazal and traditional songs. He sings for Gujarati movies also. He is a successful ghazal singer as well similar to his brothers. Manhar Udhas is the elder brother of singers Pankaj Udhas and Nirmal Udhas. Pankaj Udhas is a versatile and successful ghazal singer of India and his elder brother, Manhar Udhas has been instrumental in bringing him to live concerts and thus encouraged him a lot.
Manhar Udhas completed his Mechanical Engineering in Gujarat and came to Mumbai in late 1960s in search of a job. But he was interested in singing from early childhood. He was introduced to music duo Kalyanji-Anandji by his brother-in-law. Once he was asked to dub a song in the absence of singer Mukesh. The song was ‘Aap se hum ko bichchade huye ek zamana beet gaya' for 1969 film 'Vishwas'. Manhar’s voice and singing style had similarities with that of Mukesh that time. But later when Mukesh heard this song, he asked the music directors not to record it again in his voice. The song became an instant hit and after that he became a successful singer of Bollywood. This incident thus became the turning point of his singing career and singer Mukesh became instrumental behind his success as well.
He has numerous hit songs in his name. A few of his major hits are Lute koi man ka dagar banke mera saathi of Abhimaan, Pyar karte hai hum of hotel, Hum tumhe chahte hai aise of Kurbani, Gali gali mein phirta hai of Tridev, Hum tere bin kahi of sadak, Jaan o meri jaan of Jaan, Chalo ik wada karein of Arayish, Ek musafir of Gunaah, Kya cheez hai and Chahiye tera saat of Bandhan anjana, Purva Suhani Aayi Re and Raghupati Raghava of Purab aur paschim, Ek tha banjara of Baat ban jaaye, Tera naam liya of Ram Lakhan, Har Kisi Ko Nahi Milta of Jaabaaz and Mein tera janu hai, Pyar Karne Wale Kabhi Darte Nahi and Din dong of Hero. In fact he sang all the songs of musical hit – Hero.
