Manesh Madhavan Biography 
Manesh Madhavan is an Indian cinematographer who hails from Ernakulam, Kerala. A graduate from the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, he has worked with many award winning film directors and independent filmmakers of Malayalam language. His most recent work is Aedan- Garden of Desire, directed by Sanju Surendran - a graduate from FTII, which bagged two awards at the International Film Festival of Kerala, and four Kerala state awards, including Rajathachakoram award for the best debut director and the FIPRESCI award for the best Malayalam film. Manesh Madhavan also bagged Kerala state award for best cinematography for the same. He associated with the same director for the documentary film, Kapila in 2014 which won many international awards.
Manesh Madhavan was born in Ernakulam, Kerala. He completed his graduation from FTII Pune in cinematography, and is also an alumnus of Berlinale Talent Campus at 58th Berlin International Film Festival 2008. He also studied at Metropolia University, Helsinki. He is a student of legendary Polish filmmaker Andrej Wajda during Berlin Talent Campus, and he also got opportunity to learn under Ellen Kuras and Santosh Sivan. As a cinematographer, he has been associated with many award winning documentary films like Kapila, short films like Afterglow and feature films like Aedan- Garden of Desire. He has also done camera work of one Hindi feature film.
In 2016 he did the screenwriting and cinematography work for his first Malayalam feature film, Tree Of Tongues in Tripura. Known to be director’s cameraman, he frequently worked with critically acclaimed film maker Sanju Surendran for several short films, documentaries and feature films too. Aedan- Garden of Desire is his best work in feature film genre, which won him a state award.
