Manasi Scott Biography

Manasi Scott is an Indian actress, lyricist and singer. She was one among the music composers who composed music for Suparn Verma’s Acid factory in 2009. Bappa Lahiri and Shamir Tandon were the rest two music directors of the movie. Manasi is also a national basketball player and played supporting role in Priyadarshan’s 50th movie – Snegithiye (Raakkilipaattu) in 2000. She played the role of Manasi, one of Jyothika’s friends in the movie. Manasi is a youth icon and performer for her lively stage shows across India. She has appeared in song picturization of a few Bollywood like "Jhootha Hi Sahi", "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" etc. She has also rendered her voice for a few songs of movies like Tom Dick and Harry Rocks Again, Acid factory, Love Story 2050, Peter Gaya Kaam Se, Pappu Can't Dance Saala etc.

 

Manasi is a single child to a Punjabi mother and Tamilian father. She got married to Craig Scott, but they got divorced in 2011. The couple has one son. She completed graduation in mass communications from St. Xavier College, Mumbai and after that she did a course on TV and Film production. Then she started her music journey with popular Pune rock band Dark Water Fixation. It gave her offer to appear in 2000 movie, Snehitaye as well as playback singing for the same movie - "Othaiyadi Pathaile".

 

She has been regular in stage shows since then. In 2005 she released her first private pop album - "Nachlae". Acid factory in 2009 was her big break to Bollywood as a music composer. The song was 'Khatti Meethi', which earned her attention. She has also endorsed many products and is the first Indian singer to have graced the coveted cover of The Week.
