Manachanallur Giridharan Biography 
Manachanallur S. Giridharan is a music director, lyricist and singer of Tamil language, most popular with devotional songs. He is also a well-known educationalist. He founded Gaananjali Recordings in 2011, where he records non-filmy albums. Giridharan also founded EdServ in the year 2001 as an Education and Training company. Giridharan has remixed yesteryear classic melody of the film Velaikaari for his album on Lord Sakthi.
S. Giridharan was born on 15 April 1964 in Manachanallur in Tiruchirappalli district. He completed Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, in 1984. He was active in music during his college days. After that he worked as a member of orchestra that provides background music for movies. He worked from 1986 to 1992. Jenma Natchathiram and Adhisaya Manithan are a couple of memorable movies during this time. Then he became an assistant musician and worked under director K. Bhagyaraj in his film Sundara Kandam. He debut as a playback singer for the same movie. The song was ‘Ethu pallikooda vayasu’. He acquired the Firth Grade certification in Western Music from Trinity College London in 1991. Same year, he co-founded Software Solutions Integrated Limited (SSI), an Education and Training company of India.
Though he has been associated with SSI for a long time his interests in music called him back once again. Since 2011, he has been associated with devotional albums. He founded Gaananjali Recordings the same year. He has formally learnt both Indian classical music and western. He learnt carnatic music under Cuddalore Subramaniam Iyer. His compositions are purely based on Indian ragas. He is very fluent in Carnatic music Raga and their Swara. Leading singers like singers like P. Unni Krishnan, Harini, and Saindhavi work aside him for his devotional compositions.
