Malavika Avinash Biography 
Malavika Avinash film actress and television host of Kannada and Tamil languages. She is married to veteran character actor Avinash of south Indian cinema. Baduku Jataka Bandi, a television show that aired on Zee Kannada was one of her successful programs as a television host. ‘Mayamruga’ is her most memorable performance as a Kannada television actress. Nanjamma, Girish Kasaravalli’s celluloid version of the eminent S.L. Bhyrappa’s celebrated novel, Gruha Banga is another memorable performance. Most recently she has joined Bharatiya Janatha Party.
Malavika was born in a typical Tamil Iyer family on January 28, 1972. Her father N. Ganesan is a retired banker and her mother Savithri, a vocalist and dancer. Malavika was initiated into Bharatanatyam very early since the age of 5. She got opportunity learn from Padmashree Leela Samson. She also learnt sitar from Pandit Partho Das. Once G.V.Iyer spotted her at a dance performance as Krishna and casted her as Krishna in his Krishnavataar. Later she appeared in lead role in Prema Karanth’s Panorama children’s film Nakkalaa Raajakumaari. She has been an intelligent student during her college days and has been awarded third rank in B.A.L., LL.B at Bangalore University. Though she became successful as an actress, later she turned towards television medium.
Her early television appearances were for renowned Girish Karnad and Ashutosh Gowariker where she acted in Hindi language. Later she appeared in Kannada and Malayalam television serials. ‘Mayamruga’ placed as top television actress of the time and it gave her opportunity in Tamil television. She played lead role in K. Balachander’s Anni. Rajarajeshwari, Comedy colony, Pudhuyugam, Pralayam and K. Balachander's Nilavai Pidippom are her other noted works in Tamil. She currently stars in the Tamil serial Chellamey and hosts the popular show Baduku Jataka Bandi on Zee Kannada.
