Mahesh (Tamil Actor) Biography

Mahesh is a noted character artist associated with Tamil cinema, who made his film debut with 2010 film, Angadi Theru, directed by Vasanthabalan. He played the male lead opposite Anjali for the movie and was praised for his performance in the film. He also got nomination at Vijay Film Awards for best debut male actor. The film was shortlisted for the Indian submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2010. But after receiving a good film and positive reviews for acting skills in the debut film, he appeared in a series of low budget films which didn’t survive at box office. A few of the projects got shelved.

Mahesh is a native of Chinnalapatti, Dindigal. He has been a star in school sports and has been a volley ball in the school days. He was spotted by Vasanthabalan’s assistants who were in search of the actors of the upcoming flick - Angadi Theru. Mahesh was spotted while he was playing volley ball match in Tirunelveli for his school. Initially Mahesh was not interested in attending the auditions. However he agreed to join the team after finishing his board examinations. His sports mentor too encouraged him to join the film line. With positive reviews and box office success of the movie, Angadi Theru, Mahesh had a magic debut in Kollywood.

Konjam Siripu Konjam Kobam (2011) – his second release was a flop at box office. After that his low budget movies started bombing one after the other. His movies were Yaasagan, Velmurugan Borewells, Iravum Pagalum Varum and the latest releases - Buddhanin Sirippu and Veyilodu Vilayadu, where he played a volley ball player. Both the movies received mixed response from critics. Adithalam – is his upcoming release.
