Madhuri Bhaduri was born in 1958. Her mother was a classical singer and was an ‘A’ grade singer for 50 years on All India Radio. She was born into a family of sports enthusiasts. She also played badminton and squash during her academic years. Shuttling between badminton courts, Madhuri found her undying love for art. But she never imagined that she would be known to the outer world as a renowned artist. She has been painting since childhood. Yet her journey as a professional artist began in 1977 when she started painting for friends and family. Now it’s more than 4 decades. Madhuri is still painting on her canvas.

Even while she Madhuri was busy with sports life, at a point of time she felt that her growth was stagnant and she wasn’t improving.  It was then that she realised that sports is not working for her. Started painting professionally in 1977 during her second year graduation at college. She took BA Honours in 1978, and completed her Master’s degree in arts 10 years later. In the 1980s she was engaged in sports, yet she continued with art career side by side. She exhibited her first show in 1986 at Bal Gandharva Art Gallery. She managed to sell 45 out of 60 art pieces in just three days. Since then she dedicated most of her time to painting.
