Macky Ali was an actor associated with Bollywood. He was known for playing character roles. He is the son of the iconic comedian of Bollywood cinema, Mehmood. He is also the brother of popular singer and actor, Lucky Ali. His brother Pucky Ali has also done brief roles on silver screen. Macky is the grandson of Mumtaz Ali, a dancer and character-artist in films from the 40's era. His aunt Minoo Mumtaz and uncle Anwar Ali have also played numerous character roles on silver screen. Macky’s real name is Maqdoom Ali. Actress Meena Kumari was his maternal aunt.

Macky Ali was born as Maqdoom Ali into a family of artists. His family has close connections with film world. He was the third child of Mehmood Ali, the famous comedian and entertainer of Bollywood cinema in the 1950s and 1960s. He was born into a big family of 8 children. His mother’s name was Mahelaka, and she was the sister of Meena kumari, the popular actress.

Macky Ali made his debut as a child artiste in Kunwara Baap (1974). The movie was directed by Mehmood, who played the male lead too. Macky Ali plays the role of a child affected by polio. Ironically the disease affected Macky in his real life too since his birth, and it could draw many similarities with the film. Music composer Rajesh Roshan was introduced with this film, and Tamil comedian actress Manorama too, who played the female lead.

In 1978 he was seen in one more film along with his father and brothers - Ek Baap Chhe Bete. Mehmood and all his six sons acted together in this movie along with his American wife Tracy Ali. During his later years, he was seen in the popular music video of 1990s, Yaro sab dua karo. He also released his own album "Shayad". In late August 2002, he died of cardiac arrest at the age of only 35.
