M. A. Chidambaram Biography 
Muttaiya Annamalai Chidambaram, born on 12 October 1918 was an Indian industrialist and cricket administrator. He is the son of S. Rm. M. Annamalai Chettiar and younger sibling of M. A. Muthiah Chettiar and M. A. Ramanathan Chettiar. A. C. Muthiah, former president of BCCI is his son and famous politician and finance minister, P. Chidambaram is his nephew. M. A. Chidambaram has served as the Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in India in 1956 and President from 1960–61 to 1962-63. He has long term association with BCCI where he was assigned the job of its treasurer for 20 years. His intervention and negotiation between TNCA and the Madras Cricket Club over the construction of a stadium on the Club's ground in Chepauk is one of his significant contributions and the stadium was named after him, as M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in his honour.
Chidambaram was born at Kanadukathan on December 10, 1918 as the youngest son of Annamalai Chettiar, the Raja of Chettinad. He started his career in association with automobile product at Mumbai. It was a scooter factory where he worked first. He later became the Director of the Indian Aluminium Company and has been instrumental in founding the Southern Petrochemical Industries Corporation. He remained its chairman till his death in 2000. He was the president of the Southern Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1951 to 1957.
He has a long term association with BCCI where he has been its treasurer for about 20 years and has also held the prestigious president and vice president positions. Apart from being an industrialist and cricket administrator, he is also known for his contributions to promote Tamil music. He started the Tamil Isai Sangam to promote music in Tamil.
