Loy Mendonsa Biography 
Loy Mendonsa completes the music trio of present Bollywood – Shankar Ehsaan Loy. This magical combination has given significant contributions to Bollywood in the past one decade or so. His daughter Alyssa has already debut playback singing with the song ‘Uf teri ada’ of Karthik calling Karthik, music given by this trio. Before doing music composition, he was the keyboard artist of A.R.Rehman and Nadeem Shravan. He started music composition with Doordarshan program - The World This Week. He associated with Ehsaan Noorani in the year 1989 and together they gave many jingles. Later during end of 90’s Shankar Mahadevan also joined their camp.
After doing the music album Rockford, the trio debut film composition with Aalavanthan, a Tamil movie. But its music was not appreciated by the masses. After the discarded project Dus, Rock Ford and Bhopal Express, Vidu Vinod Chopra’s Mission Kashmir was the movie that brought the talent of these music directors to lime light. The music got mixed reviews and was well received by the public. When Farhan Aktar decided to debut as director, three friends recorded its title track and gave it to him. Farhan liked the project and signed them the project. All the songs became smash hits and contributed a lot to the success of this movie too. They got their first Filmfare nominations for the fresh music. Songs like Koi kahe and Dil chahte hai were commonly played at dance stations. Romantic number ‘Jaane kyon log’ and comic number ‘Jise doondtha hai’ were also appreciated. Their next noticed work was Kuch na kaho. The song ‘Aao na’ sung by Sadhna Sargam is a nice romantic song.
In 2003, Dharma Productions signed them for Kal ho na ho, the biggest work they have done till now. The music of that movie became grand success and accumulated all music awards too, including best lyrics and best male playback singer. It won National awards too. After that this triplet didn’t look back and went on creating some amazing tunes. ‘Bol na halke’ of Jhoom barabar jhoom, ‘ Andere se dartha’ of Taare zameen par, ‘Uff teri ada’ of Karthik calling Karthik, ‘Sajda’ of My name is Khan, ‘Kajra re’ and ‘Chup chup ke’ of Bunti aur Bubli and ‘Aaj ki raat’ of Don are just a few among their wonderful tunes.
