Lehmber Hussainpuri Biography

Lehmber Hussainpuri is a popular Bhangra singer, based on UK and US, of Punjabi origin. His career debut in mainstream happened in 2001, with the song, Sanu Sohni Lagdi. After that he has delivered numerous hit tracks that include both traditional bhangra as well as modern style. Folk Attack 1 and 2 and Chalakiyan are the official albums released till now. He has also released many religious songs as well as compilation albums. He has also rendered his voice for a few Bollywood songs in the recent times. Mausam and Tanu Weds Manu include his hit tracks.

 

Hussainpuri was born on July 17, 1977 in Kapurthala, Punjab. His first bhangra song in the year 'Sohni Lagdi' became popular. In collaboration with Dr. Zeus, he released an album - Unda The Influence which included hit songs like Ah Ni Kuria, Mil De Yaar, Mele Vich Jatt and Tin Cheejha. It was followed by notable tracks such as Mela, Gabru Shakeen, Daru, Kich Ke Legeya etc. In 2004 he planned to release his first solo album in association with Zeus. But it got delayed and eventually got released in 2005, titled Folk Attack. He has already signed with Envy Records, UK which led to controversy. Thus his first international project with Envy Records didn’t happen.

 

The compilation album - The Best of Lehmber Hussainpuri, released in 2005 turned out to be successful. It was followed by solo hits like Sadi Gali, Seetiyan, Ne Baliyeh, Tokh Tokh Ke, Panj Bindiyan, Tere Ote Dil Ageya, and Ishq Brandy. Chalakiyan (2006) was his first solo hit, establishing him as a successful Bhangra singer. Mallo Malli of Mausam and Sadi Gali of Tanu Weds Manu are his most popular Bollywood tracks.
