Lavrenti Lopes Biography

Lavrenti Lopes is an Indian actor and model, who works in Hollywood and American television. He appeared in American sitcom television series – New Girl in the role of Gopi, Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 in the role of a Clerk, Review with Forest Macneil portraying the role of Victor and The Wedding Band as Jagdish. He is active in the entertainment industry since 2011. SubHysteria (2011) is his debut movie, followed by Afghan Hound, Desperate Endeavors and Love Lies and Sita.

 

He was born in Mumbai in 1986 to Goan parents. Currently he lives in Los Angeles. He has one elder brother. His childhood days were spent in Mumbai itself, where he spent his school days. Since early childhood, Lopes dreamt to become an actor. He watched both Bollywood and Hollywood movies since young days. In fact Lopes is a “big fan of Indian movies” and dreamt to make a career in Mumbai. He joined Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in 2007 to pursue his dreams. He shifted to New York also, so that he can continue with his dreams. In those days, he got active in theatre and appeared in a few television ads as well.

 

His commercial ad for Tata True Roots Calling Card gave him instant recognition and proved to be the bridge to fulfill his acting dreams. This single commercial went viral over net. Though he approached many Bollywood directors for a role, he made debut through Hollywood and American television. Thus he couldn’t fulfill his passion to become a well-known actor of his native Mumbai. Among Indian actors, he is a great fan of Aamir Khan.  Love, Lies and Seeta is his latest release. It is an Indian-American romantic comedy film directed by Chandra Pemmaraju. Lopes played the role of Bhavuk in this movie.
